Sustainability Practices

Sustainability at Elysa’s Candle Bar

Our Approach

Sustainability isn’t a trend for us — it’s a responsibility.
We create with intention, choosing materials and practices that honor the planet and the people who make our work possible. Every decision, from wax to packaging, is part of a long-term commitment to doing better, not just saying it.

Materials That Matter

We use ingredients and components chosen for their lower impact and higher integrity — including coconut soy-based wax and ethically sourced cotton wicks.
We evaluate every phase of our product’s life, making sure it aligns with our values of transparency, care, and continuous improvement.

Reduce

We design our packaging to be as minimal and responsible as possible.
Wherever we can, we choose materials that are reusable, recyclable, or compostable, and we actively work to eliminate unnecessary single‑use plastics.
Less waste. More intention.

Reuse

Our vessels are made to live beyond the burn.
We encourage every customer to give their candle a second life — as a planter, a catch‑all, a bud vase, or whatever fits their ritual.
A candle ends, but the vessel doesn’t have to.

Recycle

We’re committed to making recycling simple and intuitive.
Our packaging includes clear instructions, and we’re increasing our use of recycled materials — including recycled plastics and papers certified to global sustainability standards.
Circularity is the goal; clarity is the path.

No Animal Testing

We never test on animals, not in our formulas, not in our raw materials, not anywhere in our supply chain.
Our commitment is firm, monitored, and non‑negotiable.

Our Wax

We craft our candles with a coconut–soy wax blend — a renewable, biodegradable option that burns cleaner, slower, and with less soot than traditional paraffin.
This blend gives you a smoother melt, a softer glow, and a richer scent experience, all while reducing our reliance on fossil‑fuel‑based waxes.

Responsible Sourcing

We prioritize materials that protect forests, biodiversity, and the communities connected to them.
FSC‑certified paper ensures:

  • No net loss of forests
  • Protection of high‑conservation areas
  • Respect for Indigenous rights
  • Fair wages and safe working conditions

We also advocate for responsibly sourced palm‑derived materials and support certification systems that protect ecosystems and workers.

A Second Life for Every Vessel

When your candle is finished, the ritual continues.
A simple four‑step reset:

  1. Freeze the vessel overnight.
  2. Tap gently to release the wax.
  3. Wipe clean and wash.
  4. Repurpose with intention.

From planters to vanity storage to bud vases, the possibilities are endless and beautifully personal.
